I am a summa cum laude graduate of Troy University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a minor in American and European History. I became interested in tutoring when I began helping my fellow classmates understand assignments, or the philosophies of topics. Those tutoring sessions became a regular event, and soon some of my neighbors began asking if I would tutor their high school children who were falling behind in some of their classes. The satisfaction that I experienced when my students succeeded motivated me to take it to the next level. I began tutoring professionally in July 2017 after graduation.
Degrees in the soft sciences, or social sciences, are typically more research orientated than hard sciences, meaning that students will spend the majority of their time writing papers. Essay reviews, high school and college, became the main area of my tutoring time. Students need to understand the importance of a thesis statement, an outline, and that Grammar errors are responsible for lower grades more so than concepts and stories.
I believe that all students have the potential to succeed, but some need help along the way. With the amount of information students are expected to absorb in any given year, it is understandable that they will, from time to time, need help. I want to see students succeed. I want them to be able to say with confidence, "I got this." If you want to be that person, but you need help, please do not hesitate to contact me.
