I'm a mother of 3, a certified teacher, and a life-long learner. I believe learning can be fun and teaching is my passion!
Hello from Indiana! I have a B.A. in Political Science, a M.A. in Secondary Education (Social Sciences) and an Ed. Specialist degree in Educational Technology. I have over a decade of teaching experience and I hold current teaching certifications for Missouri (grades 5-12/ all social science courses) and Indiana (grades 5-9 social studies & 5-12 government/civics).
I can offer a variety of social studies classes and/or tutoring for 1-1 or small groups (siblings or "pods" of learners).
I am experienced in creating learning opportunities that are inclusive, engaging, and interactive. I'm passionate about education and about helping all learners feel valued and appreciated. I've completed additional coursework in differentiation, gifted education, and strategies for working with twice-exceptional learners. I believe education can help to bridge economic divides and improve opportunities for all learners.
When I'm not teaching or lesson planning, I love spending time with my family- playing games, watching movies and traveling. I also enjoy reading, cooking, binging T.V. shows, and taking our dog (Bonnie) on walks.
