Learning French as a second language (inspired by a fantastic high school teacher) forced me to understand language concepts at a higher level than the average native speaker, which allows me to communicate rules and grammar in a way that second language speakers can more easily understand. While my experience teaching both ESL in France and French at two language schools in Houston has offered very practical preparation for teaching in a private school, so has my passion. Since I can remember, I have had a passionate interest in francophone culture and language learning, which translates very well into teaching. This passion, I think, is contagious and has sparked newfound interests in many of my students. I have loved teaching wherever I have done it. I love the different dynamics of classrooms as well as working with individual students, the challenges and especially witnessing progress.
