Hello, I’m Trenton Smith and I have a passion for teaching English as a Second Language.
I have been teaching English to second language learners In Taiwan and Korea for over 5 years. I have had the opportunity to teach ages Kindergarten to adults on an individual, small classroom and large classroom basis.
I enjoy getting to know my students and attempting to meet their educational needs using extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Applying scaffolding when necessary to keep student interested, motivated, and learning. While trying to differentiate to address the needs of students in multiple level classrooms.
I’m experienced in assessing my students English level, developing and implementing curriculum based on the students level, and adapting as students grow and learn.
I enjoy finding and testing new theories and ideas to find what best meets my students needs. I plan on studying and researching over the next 5 years in order to develop my skills in all areas of second language education.
