I am currently seeking a family to assist with distance learning in the Orlando area. I have developed curriculums that catered to my students' needs, followed a variety of written curriculums and helped implement FLVS several times. With a high success rate, I have been teaching children ages 2-18 for over 25 years, specializing in all core subjects for grades kindergarten through eighth. I also teach middle-school math. In fact, I work part time for Pearson Education grading standardized Math and Writing assessments. After teaching primary school for 16 years, in the Georgia Public School System, I moved to Florida. In the 9 years I have lived here I have continued to teach but in a private capacity. I have homeschooled for seven different families and tutored over 100 children, many of whom have stayed with me for multiple years. Many of the children I have helped have a processing disability, ADD or ADHD. My average students have become A students and my A students are now working above grade level. Most of my students tell me they have the top scores in their class now because of what I have taught them. I have also had a high success rate with many children who are very shy around others. With my sweet, laid-back disposition children warm up to me quickly. Not only am I able to explain concepts in a way that will enable my students to understand what they are learning but I teach them how to problem-solve, build their self-confidence and instill a love of learning!
