My background includes more than 7 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. I have taught courses in Physics, Astronomy, Mathematics and Computer Science. I have worked at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (San Nicolas de los Garza, Nuevo Leon, Mexico) and the Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila (Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico) I have research experience, working with Astronomy and Planetary Science groups from the INAOE, UNAM, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Agnes Scott College and the University of Arizona.
I have given Math, Physics and Astronomy talks for the general public and K-12 students in many places across Mexico (Since 1994). I have participated on diverse educational programs sponsored by the National Council of Science and Technology to communicate science knowledge and to encourage the study of science careers. I have given many interviews to different communication media (Newspapers, TV, radio), locally, regional and national in Mexico. I have produced and hosted a talk radio program in Astronomy and general science.
I have attended the teaching preparation program organized by the
Alternative Certification for Teachers Rio Grande Valley in McAllen TX, the subjects covered by the program were: Framework for effective teaching, classroom and behavior management, curriculum planning and instructional strategies, equity for the exceptional Learner and reading. I have approved the Physics and Mathematics (8-12) Texas Examinations of Educator Standards test.
