While originally from New York, I have travelled extensively throughout North & South America, Europe, Northern Africa and the Near & Far East Asia, as well as living throughout my life in more than 6 different countries, where I have developed a working proficiency in Spanish, French and Italian languages -- and, now, Japanese.
Previous to embarking on my formal teaching career, I not only dedicated myself to business-related occupations including Finance & Investment, Banking, Consulting,and a Non-Profit Organization in Harlem, New York, but also developed my inherent artistic ability by succeeding at selling more than 60 paintings in more than 4 countries such as France, Spain, Italy, and the United States.
During the last 14 years of teaching ESL to more than 1500 students world-wide, however, I have come to realize the complete failure of the traditional form of teaching English as a second language (ESL). The traditional International English Schools and Companies do not teach students to Communicate in English. They teach students to take tests by memorizing grammar and vocabulary though the use of standardized text books, which, to be honest, are all identical, and give the student the illusion they are learning, progressing in English. But it is a Grand Lie! At the moment a student is confronted with the 'Real-World' of English, they are lost; They cannot even have a simple conversation.
In Short, it is the result of this intense frustration at countless first-hand experiences with 100's of students that cannot have a simple conversation or understand a simple sentence, despite studying English formally for 5 to 10 years that has inspired me to create ZenEnglish. The first, and maybe only, English School in the world that is exclusively dedicated to teaching students How to Use...How to Communicate in English.

More than just Customizing a Professional Business or Academic Program to satisfy the unique needs of each student, I am also dedicated to fundamentally improving each students level of self-confidence when communicating in English.
