JOB DESCRIPTION

Virtual Private School, Fully Remote, $60,000 USD/year ($30 USD/hour), Full-Time (40 hours/week)

The Reading Intervention Specialist provides personalized virtual reading instruction to students in grades 3–8, helping them develop stronger reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence through targeted intervention. The position emphasizes measurable academic growth, student engagement, and fostering the motivation and resilience necessary for long-term reading success.

Key responsibilities include delivering virtual one-on-one and small-group reading intervention sessions, using assessment and progress-monitoring data to diagnose skill gaps and refine instructional plans, differentiating instruction for students with diverse reading abilities, including those with dyslexia and related learning challenges, tracking student progress to guide future interventions, and conducting structured motivation check-ins that encourage accountability, confidence, and sustained academic growth.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field and possesses a reading intervention certification or equivalent state endorsement, along with training in dyslexia intervention or structured literacy. Candidates should have at least two years of experience providing reading interventions to students in grades 3–8, demonstrated success supporting students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties, strong data analysis skills to inform instruction, excellent virtual communication and student engagement abilities, and authorization to work in the United States.
