The high school English teacher will deliver high-quality instruction in a fully online learning environment while helping students achieve academic success through personalized, student-centered education. Working remotely from a professional home office, teachers provide engaging live and self-paced instruction, monitor student progress through our learning management system, and collaborate closely with students, parents, and learning coaches to ensure each learner meets established academic goals.

In this role, teachers manage all aspects of the online learning process, including differentiating instruction to meet individual student needs, maintaining accurate grade records, supporting academic integrity, preparing students for standardized assessments, and using student performance data to guide instructional decisions. They also build strong partnerships with families by providing regular communication, addressing curricular and instructional questions, and offering basic technology support in the virtual classroom. Occasional travel is required for professional development, student testing, and other school-related events.

The position requires a self-directed educator who can work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high professional standards and fostering an engaging online learning environment. Successful candidates demonstrate a commitment to high expectations for all students, adaptability to changing educational needs, collaboration with colleagues and school leaders, and a willingness to participate in ongoing coaching and professional development to improve student outcomes. This position is remote and strongly prefers candidates that reside in Virginia. May consider candidates that reside in surrounding states: Washington, DC and Maryland.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, an active state teaching license, and the ability to successfully pass a required background check. Desired qualifications include experience working with the appropriate grade level, teaching in virtual and/or traditional classrooms, supporting students and families with technology, and using online learning platforms. Preferred candidates are collaborative, data-driven educators who are proficient in Microsoft Office applications, comfortable learning new technologies, receptive to instructional coaching, and committed to maintaining professional certification and expertise with K12 systems, curriculum, and instructional programs.
