Our innovative school is seeking a K-8 Guide to coach and motivate students using our 2 Hour Learning model, where AI-powered adaptive learning apps deliver academic instruction while the Guides focus on the human skills that technology cannot teach. Rather than teaching through lectures or textbooks, Guides help students build confidence, accountability, communication, teamwork, focus, and other essential life skills while ensuring they achieve ambitious academic and personal goals. The role is designed for individuals who believe that maintaining high expectations is one of the most supportive ways to help students succeed.

Approximately 60% of the role is spent providing one-on-one and small-group coaching, using analytics and adaptive learning dashboards to identify where students are struggling and help them overcome challenges through personalized motivation and goal setting. The remaining 40% is dedicated to leading engaging, project-based life-skills workshops on topics such as public speaking, teamwork, focus, and giving and receiving feedback. Students demonstrate mastery through assessments before advancing, and Guides are responsible for building trusting relationships that make high accountability both encouraging and effective.

This position offers a clear leadership pathway, beginning with managing a student cohort and mastering our coaching model. Successful Guides who consistently help students achieve their academic and life-skills goals while maintaining strong student satisfaction can advance into Lead Guide and eventually Campus Lead roles with broader leadership responsibilities. The position emphasizes active coaching, mentorship, and student engagement rather than traditional classroom instruction, grading, lesson planning, standardized test preparation, or school operations.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience working directly with K-8 students either by teaching, tutoring, youth programs, camps, or sports coaching, along with a demonstrated record of high personal achievement in academic, athletic, or professional settings. Applicants must be willing to work full-time on-site at our campus in Dorado, Puerto Rico, and be legally authorized to work in the United States or Puerto Rico without visa sponsorship. Preferred qualifications include fluency in both English and Spanish, experience motivating young people in competitive coaching, debate, performing arts or selective youth programs, a background designing and leading youth workshops or camps, and familiarity with adaptive learning platforms such as Khan Academy, IXL, or DreamBox.
