An exciting, cutting-edge and innovative school is seeking a Pre-K Educator to create an engaging, play-based learning environment where young children develop a love of learning while achieving accelerated early childhood growth. Rather than focusing primarily on traditional academics, this role emphasizes building emotional safety, curiosity, confidence, and resilience through intentional, sensory-rich activities that support children's cognitive, social, and emotional development. Educators are expected to foster a classroom where four-year-olds learn through movement, exploration, and meaningful relationships while progressing at approximately twice the pace of traditional preschool programs.

The Pre-K Educator will design and lead 30-60 minute play-based learning experiences, create an engaging classroom that supports multiple learning styles, and use ongoing observation to document each child's developmental progress. Weekly data is used to identify individual growth opportunities, adapt learning activities to each child's interests and needs, and monitor progress toward developmental milestones. The role also includes guiding children through emotional challenges using calm co-regulation strategies, maintaining strong partnerships with families through proactive communication, and ensuring every child develops both emotionally and academically in a supportive environment.

Candidates should have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or a CDA, Montessori or Reggio credential, along with at least two years of experience working with children ages 3-5 in a structured classroom setting. Successful applicants have demonstrated experience leading play-based learning that produces measurable developmental growth, documenting developmental milestones using structured assessment methods, and building trusting relationships with young children through emotional awareness and individualized motivation. Applicants must be skilled in helping children navigate frustration through co-regulation and emotional coaching, be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and be available to work full-time on-site in New York City.
