Part-Time Homeschool Teacher (6 Yr Old Girl)

We are in search of an in-person elementary teacher to homeschool a 6 year old girl at her home in Park City, UT 84098, west of Salt Lake City. This is a great opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position teaching just one student Monday-Friday from 9am-1pm (preferred) or 8:30am-12:30pm that pays $50/hour ($1,000/week). This opportunity will begin this September for the upcoming fall school year.

Looking for an elementary teacher who is playful, creative, and nurturing, yet can set boundaries and project authority when necessary. The right teacher will be able to recommend curriculum or curricula choices and customize in ways that align with the parents’ goals and the student’s interests when appropriate. (The parents are willing to collaborate with the teacher about the curriculum used, but it may be faith-based and it will need to be accredited.) Applicants should be able to foster confidence and independence, while reacting to the student’s individual abilities.

The right teacher should be comfortable teaching all subjects at least through elementary and should be enthusiastic about incorporating project-based activities. A teacher who can keep up with the child physically is preferred (at least physically fit enough to pick her up), and interest in occasional education-related outings like visiting museums would be a plus. Looking for a teacher who will teach useful skills and encourage and enable the student to pursue her interests. One of the end goals is to empower the student to become independent and proud when she is able to do things for herself.

Applicants should have a minimum Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of teaching experience working with elementary-aged children. (The ability to also teach middle school level is a plus.) Requirements
