JOB DESCRIPTION

A fully-digital school is seeking a full-time Remote Special Education Teacher. This opportunity is available to educators who reside in Georgia and hold a valid Georgia Special Education Teaching Certificate. The position offers a non-negotiable annual salary of $52,000, along with eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Although teachers work remotely, occasional travel of up to 20% is required for student testing, professional development, and other school-related events.

In this role, you will provide individualized virtual instruction and ensure students with disabilities receive the educational services and accommodations outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Responsibilities include developing compliant IEPs and progress reports, leading annual IEP meetings, collaborating with related service providers and families, modifying curriculum and assessments, monitoring student achievement, and supporting students' success in both special and general education settings. Teachers use Stride K12's online learning platform to deliver engaging instruction while tracking student progress and maintaining accurate academic records.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative educator who values personalized learning and is committed to helping every student succeed. Teachers are expected to communicate regularly with parents and learning coaches, analyze student data to guide instruction and interventions, maintain documentation, prepare students for standardized testing, and provide support with virtual learning tools. Success in this role requires strong organizational, communication, and technology skills, along with the ability to work independently from a professional home office while adapting to evolving educational technology and instructional practices.

Key Responsibilities:

-Deliver individualized special education instruction in a virtual learning environment.

-Develop, maintain, and implement compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required documentation.

-Lead annual IEP meetings and collaborate with parents, service providers, and school staff.

-Modify lessons, assessments, accommodations, and instructional materials based on student IEPs.

-Monitor student progress, collect work samples, and use data to guide instructional decisions.

-Maintain gradebooks, ensure academic integrity, and prepare students for standardized assessments.
