Teacher of Visually Impaired

We are seeking a dedicated special education teacher with a Visual Impairments endorsement to support students with visual disabilities in a collaborative, therapist-led educational environment. This position offers guaranteed hours, a stable weekday schedule, competitive W-2 pay ranging from $56 to $64 per hour, and no non-compete agreements. Educators will also receive dedicated clinician support and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student achievement and independence.

In this role, you will assess students' educational needs and develop individualized instructional plans that align with each student's strengths and goals. Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility concepts, assistive technology, academic skills, and other adaptive strategies that help students access the curriculum and succeed in school.

The teacher will work closely with classroom teachers, families, and other school professionals to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations, accessible learning materials, and inclusive educational experiences. You will also develop and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, evaluate student progress, adjust instructional strategies as needed, and encourage students to build independence, self-advocacy, and social-emotional skills.

Qualified candidates must hold a bachelor's or master's degree in special education or a related field, and possess a valid Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) teaching license with an endorsement in Visual Impairments.
