Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher

Our educational services team is seeking a dedicated teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing to support students in a school-based setting. This opportunity offers guaranteed hours, consistent weekday schedules, competitive W-2 pay of up to $51 per hour, and no non-compete agreements. Educators will receive dedicated clinician support while helping students with hearing differences achieve academic and personal success in an inclusive learning environment.

In this role, you will provide specialized instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students from preschool through high school, tailoring lessons to meet each student's unique communication and learning needs. Responsibilities include conducting or assisting with Usher screenings and audiological evaluations, using appropriate communication methods and assistive technologies, and monitoring student progress through ongoing assessments to ensure effective instruction.

The position requires close collaboration with families, teachers, and school staff to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). You will advocate for students, support their academic and social-emotional development, and create learning environments that promote engagement, independence, and accessibility while adjusting instructional strategies to meet changing student needs.

Qualified candidates must hold a valid Florida Teaching License for Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Experience working within an itinerant teaching model is preferred, along with strong knowledge of Deaf culture, communication methods, and instructional best practices.
