Full-Time Live-In Governess (Nanny/Early Childhood Educator)

Seeking an experienced, warm, and professional full-time live-in nanny/governess to support a wonderful Chinese-American family in New York and care for their 5.5-year-old daughter. This long-term position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and can provide a nurturing, structured, and engaging environment. The child is affectionate, energetic, curious, and artistic, with a strong interest in creativity, music, and imaginative play. The nanny will play an important role in supporting her early development and bilingual growth while building a positive and trusting relationship with her.

The position is primarily focused on after-school care, with flexibility needed around the family's schedule. Morning responsibilities include helping the child get ready for school, preparing breakfast, and at times assisting with school drop-off. Afternoons will involve accompanying her to activities such as ballet, swimming, and piano, as well as providing healthy snacks and occasional meal support. (A private chef prepares dinner for the family.) The nanny/governess will also encourage learning and creativity through reading, drawing, painting, arts and crafts, music, and imaginative play while maintaining a consistent and supportive daily routine.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with young children in a private household and possess a loving, mature, positive, energetic, and professional demeanor. Candidates should be comfortable combining warmth with gentle discipline, maintaining discretion, and providing excellent, verifiable references. A US passport or Green Card is required, along with a willingness to live in the family's home and travel internationally with them. Mandarin language skills are a significant advantage but are not required. A natural interest in music, art, or other creative activities is also a plus.

This is a full-time, live-in/travel position with accommodation provided and a salary of $2,200–$2,500 per week, depending on experience. The family offers 2–3 weeks of paid annual leave, and all travel expenses are covered when traveling with the family. Working days and the schedule are negotiable with the successful candidate, and the position is available to start as soon as possible.
