Middle School Math Teacher

College prep middle school is looking for a middle school math teacher to join our network of schools that provides scholars with eight years of rigorous college-preparatory education designed to prepare them for higher education and future careers. Teachers are responsible for delivering a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum that develops grade-level understanding, critical thinking, and academic independence. Duties include preparing and implementing daily and unit lesson plans, following curriculum scope and sequence, and providing purposeful differentiation and scaffolding for diverse learners. Teachers collaborate with colleagues to support English learners and students with disabilities, use dedicated planning and professional development time to strengthen instruction, participate in classroom observations and feedback cycles, analyze student achievement data, share effective strategies, and contribute to a culture of consistent expectations and school-wide systems.

Candidates must hold Tennessee certification in the appropriate subject area, possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate a record of using data to support student achievement. At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in an urban public or charter school, is preferred. A degree in the subject being taught is helpful but not required, and bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus. Teachers should also be willing to participate in after-school programming and a limited number of optional evening or weekend student recruitment and community outreach events. Additional school responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
