Part-Time, Library Location, In-Person, $50/Hour, M/W/F Mornings, 2 Hours/Each Session
We are seeking an early childhood teacher to tutor three young children (one at a time) in person at a local library. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position M/W/F (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) mornings from 10am-12pm that pays $50/hour ($100/visit). Looking for an experienced early childhood teacher who is able to assess each child’s level and teach very young children (ages 2 to 5 years old) early pre-K through 2nd grade skills. The right teacher will be able to use her own effective and proven methods to engage toddlers and preschool-aged children one-to-one, and improve each child’s phonics, pre-reading, early writing, and early math. The parent is willing to purchase or provide any curriculum materials, books, manipulatives, art supplies or other educational materials that the teacher requests or recommends.
The right teacher will be welcoming and engaging to the children, and somewhat energetic and bubbly. Looking for a teacher who is willing to explore and imagine to connect with very young and curious learners who enjoy, hands-on activities, magnets, and puzzles & games. Qualified candidates should be able to focus on assessment, curriculum-based instruction, lesson planning, adapting lessons to each child’s level, and tracking progress, using methods that are engaging, creative and fun.
Minimum BA and at least 2 years professional teaching experience working with students in preschool, kindergarten or early elementary settings is required. State certification is preferred, but not required. Looking for an experienced teacher with good communication who is comfortable teaching multiple children ages 2-5 at different developmental levels one-to-one in a library setting. The teacher should be reactive to each student’s abilities and must be willing to collaborate with the parent.
Requirements: Minimum BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field, along with a minimum of two years professional classroom teaching experience is required. State teacher certification is preferred. Must be able to create or adapt customized private lessons based on each child’s needs and track academic progress for 2-5 year old students and find creative ways to make it interesting. Must be able to meet at a nearby library in Sugar Land, Texas on Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings from 10am to 12pm.
