5th Grade Reading Comprehension Teacher

I am looking to improve our daughter's reading comprehension skills across all areas expected at the 5th grade level, and help her become a more confident, capable, and independent reader. We are seeking an experienced and patient 5th grade reading comprehension teacher or tutor to provide individualized academic support for our daughter.

The ideal tutor will provide engaging, age-appropriate instruction that focuses on understanding and analyzing grade-level texts. Lessons should address key reading comprehension skills such as identifying main ideas and supporting details, understanding vocabulary and context, making inferences, summarizing, sequencing events, identifying themes, analyzing characters and text structure, and answering both literal and higher-level questions.

The ELA teacher should be able to assess the student's current reading abilities, identify areas that need improvement, and develop lessons that provide consistent practice and measurable progress. Instruction should be personalized to her learning style and pace while maintaining a positive and encouraging environment. The goal is to build stronger comprehension skills that can be applied across different types of reading and academic subjects.

We are looking for someone who has experience teaching or tutoring elementary and upper-elementary students, particularly in reading, literacy, English Language Arts, and reading comprehension. A patient, supportive, and engaging teaching style is important, along with strong communication skills and the ability to make challenging reading concepts easier to understand.
