Part-Time Homeschool Teacher (2 Boys, 7 & 4 Yrs Old)

We are in search of an in-person early elementary teacher to teach two homeschooled brothers (4 and 7 years old) at their home in Needville, TX 77461. This is a great opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position teaching each student 1-to-1 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9am-12pm that pays $50/hour ($150/visit). This is an immediate opportunity for the current 2026/27 school year.

Looking for an elementary teacher who is kind, patient, and able to redirect kids. The right teacher should have some kind of prior experience working with children who have special needs; either in an inclusion or special education environment. (The 7 year old has high-functioning autism, but is roughly at grade level.) The teacher we seek should be able to recommend curriculum or curricula choices and customize in ways that align with the parents’ goals and the student’s interests when appropriate. (The parents are willing to collaborate with the teacher about the curriculum used.)

The teacher we seek should be able to foster confidence and independence in each student, while reacting to the student’s individual abilities. The right teacher should be comfortable teaching all subjects at least through 3rd grade level, and should be enthusiastic about incorporating project-based activities. The homeschool teacher will partner with the parent to provide instruction and educational support to students, develop lesson plans, monitor student progress, and maintain a positive learning environment.

Applicants should also be willing and able to coach the mom regarding teaching when the teacher is not there. Candidates should have a minimum Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of teaching experience working with elementary-aged children. (The ability to also teach middle school level is a plus.) State teacher certification is preferred, but not required.

Requirements

Must have a minimum Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of professional teaching experience working with elementary students with special needs. State teacher certification is preferred, but not required. Must have familiarity with recognized K-3rd standards and curriculum frameworks, and must be comfortable teaching all core subjects from kindergarten through at least 3rd grade in a homeschool environment. Must be willing to coach the parent, must have your own reliable transportation & cell phone, and must be able to travel to the home of the students in Needville, TX 77461 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9am-12pm.
