Middle School Tutor for 7th Grade

We are seeking a caring and experienced tutor to provide one-on-one academic support for a 7th-grade student who needs additional help in language arts and math. The tutor we are looking for will be able to create a positive, encouraging learning environment while helping the student build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and make steady academic progress using his Christian homeschool curriculum.

The tutor will provide personalized instruction in 7th-grade language arts and mathematics, identifying areas of difficulty and adapting lessons to the student's individual learning needs. In addition to subject-matter support, the tutor will help the student develop effective study habits, organization skills, and strategies for understanding and completing assignments independently.

A key focus of this position will be implementing assessments and helping the student improve test preparation and test-taking skills. The tutor should be patient and encouraging while teaching practical strategies for reviewing material, understanding questions, managing time, and demonstrating knowledge effectively during quizzes and exams. A Christian approach is needed since the curriculum is faith-based, with an emphasis on positive character development, encouragement, and respect for the family's values.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching or tutoring middle school students, particularly in math and language arts, and should be comfortable providing individualized instruction using the student's curriculum. Strong communication skills, patience, reliability, and the ability to connect with a 7th-grade student are highly valued. A background in Christian education or a willingness to incorporate the family's Christian values into the tutoring experience is preferred.
