$85 per hour
Private Family, Part-Time, Monday/Wednesdays OR Tuesday/Thursdays, 3:00-5:00pm, $85/Hour ($170/Visit)
We are looking for a warm, engaging, and enthusiastic early childhood Spanish teacher to provide in-home Spanish language lessons for two energetic 5 year old twin boys who are just beginning their Spanish learning journey. This is an excellent opportunity for a Spanish teacher who enjoys working with young children who can introduce a second language through fun, interactive, and age-appropriate activities: a part-time after school afternoon position two days a week teaching only two students that pays $85/hour ($170/visit). This is an immediate opportunity for the current 2026/27 school year.
The boys get out of their Montessori school at 2:30pm, and we are looking for a Spanish teacher who has (or can put together and supply) an age-appropriate program/curriculum that is fun, engaging and interactive, either on Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays. The teacher will create engaging lessons that build foundational Spanish vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, and conversational skills through games, songs, storytelling, movement, and hands-on activities. The goal is to foster a love of language learning while helping the children gain confidence in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
The parents will defer to the teacher regarding which materials are used, but the lessons should be fully interactive—not just mainly books or screens. The right teacher should be professional, reliable and on-time, patient, warm, enthusiastic, and able to relate to and fully engage children of this age. The Spanish teacher should also be fully bilingual and able to implement calm authority while facilitating second language ability in a way that is enjoyable and creative. (Both children enjoy engaging, creative and hands-on learning.) Teacher candidates should have at least a BA and a minimum of three years of professional Spanish teaching experience working with early elementary students. State teacher certification is preferred.

-Develop engaging lessons that introduce basic Spanish vocabulary and simple conversational phrases.
-Incorporate music, games, books, crafts, and interactive activities to make learning enjoyable.
-Encourage speaking, listening, and pronunciation through consistent practice.
-Adapt lessons to each child's learning style and developmental stage.
-Communicate with parents regarding lesson progress and future learning goals.
Requirements
Minimum BA and at least 3 years of professional Spanish teaching experience working with young children is required. (Full-time early elementary classroom experience is preferred.) State certification is preferred, but not required. Must be bilingual and fluent in both Spanish and English, and must be comfortable teaching Spanish to young children using recommended interactive and engaging methods and teaching materials that the teacher uses and supplies. Must have your own reliable transportation and cell phone, and must be able to travel to the location of the students in Houston, TX 77024, either on Monday & Wednesday afternoons or Tuesday & Thursday afternoons from 3pm-5pm. Must have good communication skills, and must be willing to interview remotely via live video chat if requested and in person in Houston, TX 77024.
