Description: Students who plan to major in a science at the undergraduate level, or who are hoping to enter a pre-medical, pre-pharmacy or pre-veterinary program, can take an SAT Biology subject test to try to stand out from other college applicants. Both tests - the Biology Ecological (Biology-E) and Biology Molecular (Biology-M) - cover five content areas: cellular and molecular biology, ecology, genetics, organismal biology, and evolution and diversity. However, the percentage of questions focusing on each of these areas differs by test. For example, the Biology-E is highly focused on ecology and evolution and diversity, while the Biology-M is more concerned with cellular and molecular biology and genetics.

Education Portal's online biology course can help you prepare for both SAT Biology subject tests. The course opens with a chapter on science basics, before offering a review of inorganic chemistry and introducing organic chemistry. You'll also explore metabolic biochemistry, physiology and human genetics, as well as ecology and social biology.
