Description: Anyone can learn to play the piano once you know how it works in this four week class. This course will cover the basics of chords, sight reading, ear training and simple chord accompaniment, so that by the end, you will have a foundation in piano that you can take in any direction. Ages 9 & up.

This is a 4 week course of one hour a week, with suggested practice time of 15 minutes daily. Keyboards are provided in the class. Students should have their own small keyboard or a piano to practice on at home.

This class is perfect for anyone who has a love of music but simply never took the leap. Also perfect for anyone who has always wanted to learn, but didn't think they had the time or didn't think they could do it. No prior experience is required for this class. By the end of the four weeks, you will be able to play beginner songs, provide simple accompaniment for yourself & others, and play some of your favorites. Perfect for school teachers, professionals, and children.

Instructor David Brake has over 10 years experience as a music instructor and classroom music teacher, and over 15 years experience prior to that as a professional musician. He has taught beginners with no prior experience of all ages to play the piano, and is one of the few teachers who effectively teaches ear training, rhythm, sight-reading, and group playing to create a strong musical foundation for beginners.

Four classes of 1 hour each. Keyboards are provided. Enrollment is limited to five students.
