I earned my Bachelor's degree in Physics from Georgia Institute of Technology. I received my Master's degree in Teaching Physics from Stony Brook University. From my professional background as a high school science teacher, a college laboratory teaching assistant, and a tutor for over 6 years, I have a wide range of experience working with students from middle school up to college level.
Every student can benefit academically, and more, from a one-on-one learning environment where that student's specific goals, and adversities, are discovered and purposely addressed. I am a patient and knowledgeable tutor with an unwavering belief that all students can grow and succeed. With encouragement and a positive attitude, students can feel at ease working with me to overcome obstacles and navigate the steps towards achieving their goals. I am always seeking new and interesting ways to make the subject matter relatable so as to promote curiosity, questioning, and discussion. The most rewarding aspect of working with students is seeing their growth from helping them build the skills that empower them to succeed.
When I'm not working with students I enjoy checking out a movie, playing (or watching) basketball, and spending time with family and friends. In the winter I like to go sliding down a mountainside on a pair of skis!
