It has been a dream of mine to combine teaching, inquiry-based education, and my experience as a mother of two into an educational experience that would serve students in a unique way. I believe passionately in meeting each student where they are, partnering with them on their learning journey, and giving them the confidence in themselves that will enable them to take risks in their pursuit of knowledge.
I have been privileged to work with children and their families from a vast array of backgrounds. In partnering with foster/adoptive parents, supporting students with learning differences, or getting to the root of social challenges, I have learned so much about myself. I always said patience was the virtue I did not have time for: Now, I find that patience and finding joy in the unique gifts of each student is my greatest strength.
I love learning. I'm not afraid to get messy or make mistakes. I truly believe in FAIL: first attempt in learning. My favorite part of teaching is watching my students have those "lightbulb moments" when everything comes together, and knowing that I helped illuminate their journey on the road to success.
I teach music and all elementary subjects. I specialize in finding the right way for a student to learn and master concepts.
