Experienced ESL, Reading, and Writing Teacher

I come from a family that firmly believes in the power of knowledge and education. It is only natural that I combine my love of learning with my passion for language and writing. I earned a B.A. in anthropology with a concentration in linguistics from a top liberal arts college. I possess three or four years of teaching experience. Right now I am in the process of earning my teaching certificate. As a teacher, I motivate and inspire my students to explore the world around them. I can tutor general subjects for children all the way through eighth grade. Nonetheless, I specialize in ESL and English reading and writing. I also specialize in teaching academic writing to higher level students.

Because of my love for languages, I learned French and Mandarin and transferred those learning experiences to the classroom as an ESL teacher. While I lived in France and Taiwan, I taught English to all ages and levels. As an ESL teacher, I can teach phonics, vocabulary, writing, grammar, math, and science through immersion. I have also worked with private students to help them improve their English vocabulary, conversational skills, and writing skills.

Additionally, I work as a content editor for Taiwanese professionals seeking master's degrees from highly ranked business schools in the U.S. and abroad. My rate of success in enabling these clients to obtain interview invitations exceeds the average by more than double. I certainly offer these services to students seeking higher education.
