In 2014 and 2015 I received the BP Teacher of Excellence Award and then in 2020 I received the
Golden Acorn Educator of the Year Award. My teaching philosophy is that curriculum is only
one part of a child’s education and that social/emotional and life skills are also needed to become a well-rounded student. Exploring outdoors and using hands-on projects that are aligned with the set curriculum is extremely important to a child’s education.
