I am semi retired, in my mid sixties. My wife is Sri Lankan and although I have stayed in SL many times on holidays, I am ashamed to say that I have never learned to speak Sinhala. We now plan to live SL for a couple of months each year and I want to be able to have simple conversations in Sinhala with the local people.
