I'm a high school science teacher, with 11 years experience. My Bachelor of Science focused on Zoology. I'm in the last semester of a Master of Science in Science Education. I've had experience teaching: Biology, Environmental Science, Genetics, Marine Biology, Zoology, Ornithology, Earth Science, Geology, and Astronomy. I've worked with students of all ages, and specialize in one-on-one help with study skills and understanding content.

My other skills involve test-taking review, specializing in ACT, SAT, and GRE prep. (I earned a 31 on the ACT back in the late 1990's, and similarly proportionate SAT score). I have tutored test-taking prep for more than 10 years, which gives me insight to share with students on tips and techniques to improve scores. I specialize in reading, grammar, vocabulary, and science logic. I am well-versed in writing essays, and can help students break down test writing prompts into well-written essay answers (My GRE essays earned 5.5 out of 6 -- which scores in the 98 percentile).

I can help students set up study plans, and learn how to study. We can practice how to take notes, outline, review for a test, or study vocabulary. I can work with students about setting goals for the future, college & career planning, as well as filling out college & scholarship applications and writing essays for applications.

I am available to tutor in person or online. Online students should have a computer with a webcam (so we can see each other to talk, but also to see any papers you need to show me and your work), a headset with a microphone, and a Google account. We will set up specifics about tutoring needs ahead of time by email prior to the first tutoring session.
