I am an educator, technical communicator, mentor, and lifelong learner with more than 30 years of experience helping people understand complex ideas. During the past 22 years with the AFRL NM STEM Academy at Kirtland Air Force Base, I developed STEM curriculum, technical publications, educational games, classroom resources, and hands-on learning experiences while teaching and mentoring more than 65,000 students and supporting programs that reached over 81,000 students statewide. I enjoy making difficult concepts engaging, understandable, and memorable.

My background extends well beyond STEM. Throughout my career I have taught, tutored, mentored, or worked extensively in writing, journalism, proofreading, editing, technical writing, science, technology, computers, accounting, banking, graphic design, educational publishing, and business. Earlier in my career I tutored college students through New Mexico State University, including the American Indian Program, helping students build confidence while mastering challenging subjects. I believe curiosity, critical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving are skills that benefit learners in every discipline.

Music has also been a lifelong passion. I studied piano and music theory, performed in jazz band and vocal ensembles, played keyboard and organ, and served for many years as a church organist, choir director, singer, and Music Minister. My experience includes piano, organ, keyboard performance, clarinet, bass clarinet, vocal music, and music theory, and I enjoy helping others discover the joy of music.

Throughout my career, I’ve found that my greatest strength is recognizing how different people learn and then explaining ideas in ways that help each individual succeed. Whether I’m teaching science, improving someone’s writing, coaching a music student, explaining technology, or helping solve a difficult problem, I enjoy adapting my approach to meet each learner where they are. I regularly use modern AI tools, including ChatGPT, to enhance research, lesson preparation, creativity, and individualized learning while encouraging students to think critically and communicate clearly.

I am currently based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and am actively seeking long-term opportunities in Texas, particularly the Austin, Georgetown, Bryan–College Station, and Dallas–Fort Worth regions. I welcome in-person, hybrid, or online opportunities and am open to relocation for the right position. My goal is to inspire curiosity, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning while helping students of all ages reach their full potential.
