I believe in the philosophy and practice of homeschooling because it is an individualized education that relies on the intrinsic motivation of each student. In my experience, homeschoolers can be more self directed and often more accelerated in some areas than their public school counterparts because their natural desire for learning is cultivated and enriched. In my training to be an educator, I independently investigated de-schooling and non-traditional schools and even taught in (and attended) such schools. Additionally, I have six years of experience in public schools, teaching novels, reading and writing to students of various abilities in grades 9-12 and I hold a professional teaching license in the state of California with a reciprocal license in process in Oregon (as of 9/9/21).

It is my passion to provide a curriculum and instruction that meets the unique needs and interests of each student and his or her family setting. Customization is at the heart of what I offer, and I am looking to work with students and their families both remotely and in person.
