Hi, I'm Elise! I am a certified Kinder-6th grade teacher with twelve years of teaching experience. I am taking a year off from the public school classroom, and currently seeking a special family to offer my services as a homeschool teacher this year (2026-2027).
MY TEACHING STYLE:
I believe learning should be fun for kids! My teaching style incorporates songs, movement, puppets, lego, or art to bring concepts to life and help children remember what they learn. Students enjoy my fun personality, engaging story-telling, and love of arts & crafts that bring learning to life.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
I have twelve years of elementary classroom teaching experience, mostly in second and third grade. I received a Bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas and a Master’s degree in Teaching: Curriculum and Instruction from Carson-Newman University in East Tennessee.
AWARDS:
I've received several teaching awards throughout my career including Eagle County, Colorado’s district-wide “Rookie of the Year” and Denver Public School’s highest ranking “Distinguished Teacher.” However, my greatest honor is making a difference in my students’ lives and continuing relationships with them for many years to come.
