Hello There!
My name is Amy Pinter and I am a Certified EC-6th grade teacher. I live in Hockley and have been married to my husband for 22 years. We have a 20 year old daughter who is a senior at Texas State pursing her Hospital Administration degree and a 16 year old daughter that is a junior in high school.
I’ve worked as a teacher in public education for 16 years but have 25 years experience in public, homeschool and private school settings. I’ve taught in Deer Park ISD, Tomball ISD, Houston ISD and Waller ISD in my career. I took a break from teaching to be a full time mom and am so excited at the opportunity to get back into the classroom and am praying for my next adventure in education. I am currently running a summer camp for ages 4-10 year olds at my home in Hockley for the summer but am ready for my next teaching assignment soon.
My absolute passion is being a teacher. I was a student teacher for a full year in 2nd grade GT and then spent most of the rest of my career in 3rd grade and Educational Technology. I have been a lead teacher in most of my roles as a teacher and successfully lead teams of teachers with a professional and respectful team-player attitude. I’ve either subbed or taught in all grades infant- 6th grade in my career. I consider myself an expert on educational milestones, TEA laws and best practices and educational leadership.
I thrive in high stress and face paced environments and bring an organized and detail oriented personality wherever I go. Past leadership have commented that I am a “phenomenal educator and role model” for co workers and students. I put 100% of myself into my role as an educator and feel that each day is a privilege to shape how a child can improve their lives with my positive guidance. Relationships are everything! Positivity in our dark world right now is everything!!
During my time away from public education, I still stayed involved and worked as a tutor and taught in private and homeschool settings part time. I was lead teacher for 3rd grade, a model teacher mentor for 3 student teachers and Teacher of the Year nominee for 5 years. I homeschooled a group of 8 students ranging from 2nd grade to 6th grade during Covid while supporting 5 different districts covering 8 separate curriculums. I have a total of 25 years of public, homeschool and private school teaching experience. It is my absolute passion. In college, I studied Maria Montessori extensively and absolutely love and support the unconventional idea that learners only need an encouraging guide. Children are naturally born learners.
I am a very quick learner and love new challenges. I would love to sit and get to know more about your program and how I can add value to the educational aspect of improving children’s lives. Education in core subjects is so important but forming a meaningful bond with a student first will always be my number one goal.
Hope to hear from you,
Amy Pinter
