I am a passionate and experienced educator with over three decades of working with elementary students in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and reading specialist. Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to helping students grow not only academically, but also in confidence and a love for learning.

My greatest strength is in the area of literacy. I specialize in supporting students with reading and writing, particularly those who need targeted intervention to build strong skills. I believe that every child can reach his or her potential with the right support, encouragement, and instruction tailored to their needs.

I have extensive experience working with diverse learners, including English Language Learners, and I pride myself on building strong, trusting relationships with both students and families. I bring a calm, encouraging presence to my teaching, and I strive to create a learning environment where students feel safe, capable, and motivated.

In addition to my work in schools, I have enjoyed tutoring students one-on-one, helping them strengthen their skills while also building independence and confidence. I truly enjoy partnering with families to support each child’s unique learning journey. For example, I have been a St. Mark’s tutor for the past two years.

I am currently completing my Texas Reading Specialist certification and continue to stay actively engaged in professional learning to ensure I am using the most effective, research-based instructional practices.

Outside of education, I enjoy connecting with people, traveling, supporting my family, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally. Teaching has always been more than a career for me; it is a calling.
