My name is Tara and I absolutely LOVE teaching! I am a mother of three adult sons, three beautiful grandchildren and I have been teaching for about 24 years. I have an Associates degree in Teaching EC-12, a Bachelor's degree in General Studies and a Master's Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction. I have a Level 3 Duel Certification in Elementary Education and Special Education. I have taught just about every grade, although my favorite is elementary and early childhood. I am a sports fanatic, although I can no longer play the sports I love. However, I do coach and it brings just as much joy as playing. My life has been dedicated to giving out all of what was given to me. I come from a household that valued education, so my love for learning has always been nurtured. I realize, as a teacher, that not all children learn in the same way, so I try many different strategies to help children learn. My youngest son was diagnosed with dyslexia and my oldest son was gifted & talented, so I am also experienced with pretty much all aspects of teaching. I create curriculum, make educational tools for children and have owned my own tutoring center for approximately 11 years. I am a professor for aspiring teachers in the foreign language arena as well as mentoring and facilitating teachers who seek an alternative pathway for teaching. I love helping others in any way I can and the child's brain fascinates me. I am also a published journalist and small scale writer. My goal is to eventually leave the classroom and still teach by homeschooling or tutoring. I want my Master's degree to help me assist kids until I simply can't anymore! I know that teaching is my calling, not a career.
