Hello! I am a certified early childhood and elementary school teacher. I have over 24 years of experience in PK-grade 3 settings, with a love for primary literacy. I enjoy creating units of study based on science, social studies content that integrate the pillars of literacy (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing). I want students to be interested and engaged in their learning so that they develop a love of learning! I excel at breaking down math concepts and strategies through manipulatives, anchor charts, pictorial representations, models, games, and problem solving. It is so important that students not only understand what and how to learn, but why it is relevant, and necessary. I want students to feel a sense of ownership and pride in their learning, work, and projects.
I have other abilities that I am able to share with students and families such as drawing, painting, art history, sewing, crocheting, cursive writing, and calligraphy. I love to explore new places and dabble in landscape and architecture photography.
