Hi, I'm Brigitte Jones-Hora, a licensed teacher with a Special Education endorsement and a warm, whole-child approach to learning. I believe every child learns differently, and my job is to meet each one where they are — with patience, curiosity, and plenty of encouragement along the way.
What sets me apart is that I've lived both sides of the homeschool journey. As a parent who has homeschooled my own children for the past 10 years, I understand the real rhythms of learning at home: the beautiful flexibility, the hard days, and the deep joy of watching a child light up when a concept finally clicks. I know how important it is for a homeschool teacher to partner with the family — to strengthen what's already happening at home, not replace it.
One of the things families love most about working with me is that I design custom curriculum tailored to each individual child. Rather than handing a student a generic workbook, I build interactive, themed lessons around the stories, characters, and topics they love — complete with mood check-ins, gentle pacing, regulation-friendly breaks, and built-in notes so parents and team members can track progress and celebrate wins.
Every child I teach gets supplemental materials made just for them, and I adjust as I learn what lights them up.
Currently, I serve as a Virtual Special Education Teacher for a school district, delivering one-on-one Zoom instruction and managing a statewide caseload of students in a virtual program. This role has sharpened my ability to build genuine relationships through a screen, differentiate instruction for very different learners, and keep families informed and confident every step of the way.
I'm comfortable collaborating on a wide range of curricula — including faith-based materials — to find what fits each child and family best.
Before stepping into the classroom, I spent more than two decades in business, leading regional training teams at Verizon Wireless and building my own real estate practice serving over 700 families. Those years gave me the communication, organization, and relationship-building skills I draw on every day as a teacher.
What I love most about teaching is helping children discover the "why" behind the "what" — the curiosity and thinking behind the answer. I'm caring, patient, flexible, and deeply committed to the families I serve.
