I am a dedicated educator with over 30 years of elementary teaching experience, specializing in fourth and fifth grades. I recently returned to the United States after spending three and a half wonderful years teaching fifth-grade students from military families at a Department of Defense school in South Korea. This experience strengthened my passion for helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a wife and mother of two grown sons, I understand the importance of creating a nurturing, encouraging, and supportive learning environment. I believe that building meaningful relationships with students and their families is essential to academic success.
Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience working with students who struggle with attention, focus, organization, and various learning challenges. I recognize that every child learns differently and enjoy adapting instruction to meet individual needs, build confidence, and encourage independence. I also have significant experience teaching virtually and utilizing online curricula, interactive learning platforms, and educational technology to create engaging and effective lessons.
Beyond classroom teaching, I have served as a grade-level team leader, Student Support Team Chair, professional development presenter, and mentor to beginning teachers. I hold a master's degree in education and have a strong background in differentiated instruction, reading and mathematics intervention, and student progress monitoring.
Now that I am settled in Central Florida, I am excited to begin a new chapter in education. I am particularly interested in remote teaching, individualized instruction, academic intervention, and opportunities to support students and fellow educators. I am seeking a flexible, part-time or full-time opportunity where I can use my experience and passion for education to make a meaningful difference while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
I believe teaching is about much more than academics. It is about inspiring curiosity, building confidence, encouraging perseverance, and helping every student recognize their potential.
